Uratujkota.pl is an adoption portal that connects cat caretakers — private individuals, shelters and foundations — with people ready to take a cat in. Our goal is home-to-home adoption: the cat goes straight to its new caretaker, and the cats that struggle the most to find a home get the most visibility.
Our mission
Sometimes life forces you to give up a cat — a move, an allergy, an illness, a change in family circumstances. Shelters and foundations do tremendous work, but they operate at the limits of their capacity. Every home-to-home adoption means a less burdened care system and room for an animal that has nowhere else to go.
Uratujkota.pl exists so that a cat can go straight from one home to another. The current caretaker describes their cat, its character and needs, and the adopter gets reliable, first-hand information. The service is used by private individuals as well as shelters and foundations looking for homes for the cats in their care.
We pay special attention to the cats that struggle the most to find a home — older cats, sick cats and cats that need extra care. Our priority system highlights their listings so they are seen first.
How it works
Rehoming a cat through our service takes three simple steps:
- Create an account — registration is free and takes a moment. All you need is an email address, a display name and a phone number.
- Add your cat and publish a listing — fill in the cat's profile: description, photos, age, health status and vaccinations. The more accurate the description, the better the chance of a well-matched home.
- Receive responses and hand over the cat — people interested in adoption will contact you using the details in the listing. You get to know each other, arrange a meeting and finalize the adoption directly between yourselves.
Who runs the service
Uratujkota.pl is an independent Polish service built by people who care about the fate of cats. We are not a shelter or a foundation — we do not run a foster home and we do not mediate the handover of the animal.
Our role is to provide a tool: a safe, transparent place where caretakers — private individuals, shelters and foundations — and adopters can find each other. We keep developing and improving the service. Questions or ideas? Write to us at kontakt@uratujkota.pl.
Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions we hear most often:
Is the service free of charge?
Creating an account, publishing listings and browsing them is currently free of charge. The adoption itself is and will remain free — we charge nothing for handing over a cat.
Do you take cats into your care?
No. We are a listings platform — the cat stays with its current caretaker until it is handed over to the new home. We do not run a shelter or foster homes.
How do I contact a cat's caretaker?
Every listing includes the caretaker's contact details — an email address and a phone number. Get in touch directly and arrange to meet the cat.
Can shelters and foundations use the service?
Yes — and we warmly encourage it. Shelters and foundations can publish listings for the cats in their care just like private individuals. Every cat that finds a home through the service means room for the next animal in need. We are developing the service with the needs of organizations in mind as well.
How is the adoption finalized?
You arrange and finalize the adoption directly between yourselves — the service does not mediate the transfer of the animal. We encourage you to draw up a simple adoption agreement and to meet in person before handing over the cat.
