These terms of service set out the rules for using Uratujkota.pl — a cat adoption portal. By using the service, you accept these terms. Please read them carefully before creating an account and publishing a listing.
§1 General provisions
These terms set out the rules for providing electronic services on Uratujkota.pl (the "Service"), operated by Artur Koniec (the "Operator" or "we") — a natural person conducting unregistered business activity within the meaning of Article 5 of the Polish Entrepreneurs' Law of 6 March 2018.
The Operator is not entered in the CEIDG business register or the National Court Register (KRS) and holds no NIP or REGON number — these terms give no company registration details because no such details exist. You can contact the Operator at kontakt@uratujkota.pl.
The Service is a free platform that allows users to publish and browse cat adoption listings and to get in touch between caretakers and people interested in adoption.
The Service is in development ahead of its public launch — the Operator's address for correspondence will be given here before the production release.
§2 Definitions
The terms used in this document mean:
- Service — the Uratujkota.pl website together with all its features.
- User — a natural person using the Service, including those browsing listings without signing in.
- Caretaker — a signed-in User who creates an account and publishes adoption listings.
- Account — a User's individual profile in the Service, protected by a password.
- Listing — a publication concerning a cat or a group of cats available for adoption, including a description, contact details and location.
- Adoption — the free transfer of care over a cat to an interested person, arranged directly between Users.
§3 Rules for using the service
When using the Service, the User undertakes to observe the following rules:
- to use the Service in accordance with the law, good practice and these terms;
- to provide truthful and up-to-date information, in particular in listings and contact details;
- not to publish unlawful, offensive or misleading content, or content that infringes the rights of third parties;
- not to use the Service to sell animals, for commercial activity or for purposes unrelated to adoption;
- to respect animal welfare and the rules on their protection.
The Operator may block or remove content that breaches these terms and may restrict access to the Service for a User who grossly or persistently violates its provisions.
§4 User accounts
Creating an account is voluntary and free of charge, and is required to publish listings. The rules for accounts:
- registration requires an email address, a display name and a phone number, as well as confirmation of the email address;
- the User is responsible for keeping their password confidential and for actions taken from their account;
- one person should hold one account; creating accounts to circumvent restrictions is not allowed;
- the User may request deletion of their account at any time from the "Account" panel; sign-in is blocked immediately, and 14 days later the account is permanently deleted and the personal data is irreversibly erased or anonymized — the Privacy policy describes exactly what happens;
- during those 14 days the deletion can be called off only through the single-use link sent to the email address of the account — there is no other route; after that deadline the operation is irreversible;
- the moment account deletion is requested, the User's published listings stop being visible in the Service; they return automatically if the deletion is called off within the grace period, and once it passes they disappear for good together with the account.
§5 Adoption listings and liability
Listings are published by Caretakers on their own responsibility. The following rules apply:
- the Caretaker is fully responsible for the content of their listings, including the accuracy of the cat's description, health status and history;
- adoption is arranged directly between Users — the Operator is not a party to these arrangements and does not mediate the transfer of the animal;
- the address given in a listing is the address where the cat is collected and it is publicly visible — the city, the voivodeship and the postal code are required, and the Caretaker gives the street voluntarily, in which case it is public too;
- the contact details given in a listing (email address and phone number) are public — every visitor can see them, including visitors without an account; on the listing page they sit behind a "Show contact details" button, but clicking it requires no sign-in;
- the Operator only provides a tool for publishing listings and does not guarantee that an adoption will take place or how it will proceed;
- to the extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable for damage arising from contacts and arrangements between Users.
§6 Verified organization badge
- shelters and foundations can receive a "Shelter" or "Foundation" badge displayed next to their listings; the badge is free of charge;
- the Operator grants the badge at its own discretion, after the verification described on the "Contact" page: a check of the public registry and a confirmation by a one-time code sent to the organization's e-mail address as published in the registry or on its official website; submitting a request does not entitle anyone to the badge;
- the badge only means that, at the time of verification, the account was linked to that organization — the Operator gives no guarantee about the organization's reliability, its conduct or the course of an adoption, and the rules in §5 apply to listings with a badge as well;
- the Operator may withdraw the badge at any time, in particular when the organization's details are no longer current, when there is doubt that the account is linked to the organization, or when the account breaches these terms; the badge also disappears when the account is deleted.
§7 Personal data
The rules for processing Users' personal data, including information about the purposes, legal bases, retention period and the rights you have, are described in detail in the Privacy policy.
When using the Service, the User should read the Privacy policy, which is an integral supplement to these terms.
§8 Complaints
Any malfunctions of the Service, as well as comments and complaints, can be reported to kontakt@uratujkota.pl.
A report should include a description of the problem and, where possible, information that allows it to be reproduced. We handle complaints without undue delay, usually within 14 days of receiving them, and inform you of the outcome at the email address provided.
§9 Final provisions
The Operator may amend these terms for important reasons, in particular as the Service evolves or the law changes. The current version of the terms is always available on this page, and we indicate the date of the last update at the top. We will announce any significant changes in the Service.
Matters not regulated by these terms are governed by Polish law. If any provision of these terms turns out to be invalid, the remaining provisions remain in force.
